The Life of Death

Right now there is a shift in the way we think about death and dying.

This workshop provides a look into the meaning of dying well and how we may see that shift.

We use the time for learning, contemplation and understanding important issues around death and dying.

During this weekend we explore;

The Paper Train of Death, the paper work surrounding illness and death and complete important documents which include; Health Proxy, DNR, the 5 Wishes and remembrances for friends & loved ones

The Rites, Rituals, Culture and Celebrations of Life and Death, the culture and customs around death, including ancient and modern which include; traditions of world cultures, customs of the past, customs of religious traditions, customs of your family & culture, emergence of green burials, begin to create your own celebration

The Life of Death, a personal contemplation and understanding of your own reaction to death and dying and how that impacts living which includes; who or what is death to you, short animated film, guided meditations, guided visualizations, write your own obituary, what does it mean to say, “Life includes Death.”

The Alchemy of Grief

Grief Although usually we focus on the emotional response to loss, grief touches so may levels of our being. Grief has deep physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, cultural, spiritual and philosophical threads. In this workshop we will;

~ Ask what is grief

~ Examine the physiology of grief

~ Become aware of our behaviors surrounding grief

~ How we actually think about grief

~How to safely share grief

~ What are the spiritual components of grief

~Draw on ways we can successfully move thought grief when it impacts our life
